1. Introduction1.1Background of the researchIn today's globalization, with the improvement of China's comprehensive national strength, the construction of cultural soft power is also particularly important. There is still a gap between China and the West in terms of soft power. Compared with the significant improvement of China's hard power, cultural soft power has yet to be strengthened. The translation of Chinese literature can promote the spread of Chinese culture and improve the international status of Chinese culture's soft power. As a result, more and more classical Chinese literary works have been introduced to foreign countries through translation. The translation of Lu Xun's works is of great significance in the communication of Chinese literature. His literature is an important treasure in the history of Chinese literature. Lu Xun is a great modern Chinese writer, known as the "national soul" of the Chinese nation, he is the pioneer and founder of modern Chinese literature, is the founder of modern Chinese novel. His short stories have profound ideological connotation and realistic characteristics, reflecting the current situation of Chinese society at that time. He is regarded as the most outstanding and creative writer in China, and his works are also representative of Chinese culture. Many of his short stories have been translated into other languages and introduced abroad, where they have had a profound impact. Therefore, scholars have paid great attention to the translation and study of Lu Xun's novels.Feng Bo is a short story written by the modern writer Lu Xun in 1920. It was included in the collection The Scream. It occupies an important position among Lu Xun's short stories. Through the description of a storm caused by pigtail in a river town in the south of the Yangtze River, the novel reflects the incompleteness of the Revolution of 1911 and reveals the situation that the feudal monarchy was still ruling the countryside and the peasants were ignorant and backward, lacking democracy and free thought. This shows that future social revolutions will be difficult to succeed if they do not completely change people's ideas. The novel "disturbance" revolves around the "braid" whether there is a plot, the ups and downs of the event. The emotional changes of the characters completely follow the process evolution of beginning, development, climax, ending and aftermath in the structure, and not only highlight the main characters, but also do not ignore other characters, the scene is not big, each character is vivid. The final novel to write the feet of the sixpounderlimping appearance, more deepened the theme of the novel, and left a long aftertaste, its subtle profound, thought-provoking.Since the publication of the short story Feng Bo, many scholars have translated it into English. However, the translation study of this short story is far from enough. Most of the relevant studies mainly discuss the translation of this short story from the perspective of literature. The two translations analyzed here are Yang Xianyi's(2003) and Julia Lovell's(2009). The name of the novel also has many kinds of translation, here chooses Yang Xianyi's translation.1.2Need of the researchVenuti(1995:8) says: "Translators rarely receive recognition for their work, including writing translations that attract public attention (because it is award-winning, controversial, censored)." Therefore, the translator's style has always been ignored, and traditional translation studies tend to focus on the author of the source text. The study of the translator's style reveals the translator's personal language characteristics and writing habits. Meanwhile, corpus tools ensure the objectivity and feasibility of the translator's style through a large number of corpus analysis data.Theoretically, first of all, in this paper, the "Feng Bo" English translation the translator in the style of study is the extension and supplement the former research based on the theory of translation, is a complement to translation the translator style research and extension, which will further reveal the linguistic features of the two translators provide more reference, provide translators style theory data and empirical research instance. In addition, the translator's style is an important part of corpus translation studies. Corpus and some corpus tools make it easier for researchers to generalize the linguistic features and linguistic styles of individual translators. Corpus and some corpus tools make it easier for researchers to generalize the linguistic features and linguistic styles of individual translators. Finally, the corpus-based translation style research method can establish the field of corpus analysis and data statistics, so as to examine the translator's style characteristics more comprehensively and objectively, and avoid subjectivity and arbitrariness in the research. In fact, because English and Chinese are completely different languages with different linguistic features and ways of thinking, researchers can find out the extent to which translators deviate from other translators by comparing the similarities and differences between different versions. By comparing the two versions of the novel, we can better understand the translation styles of different translators.1.3 Organization of the researchThe full text is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the research background, the importance of the research, the purpose of the research and the main content of the paper. The second chapter is a literature review of this paper, including a brief review of the previous translation studies of "Feng Bo" and previous corpus-based studies of the translator's style. The third chapter introduces the theoretical framework of this study. In this chapter, we first introduce the translator's style, the research model of the translator's style survey, and then review the functional context analysis model. The fourth chapter is the research method of this paper. Firstly, the research question is put forward, and then the research method, including the research object and the research process, is described. The fifth chapter uses corpus translation method to study the translator's translation style based on Yang Xianyi's translation and Julia Lovell's translation. The author establishes a parallel corpus to analyze the differences of translators' styles from lexical, syntactic and textual levels. The sixth chapter summarizes the main findings of this paper, and explains the significance and limitations of this paper.2. Literature Review2.1 Studies on the English Versions of STORM IN A TEACUPSince the publication of Lu Xuns short story STORM IN A TEACUP , many domestic scholars have done relevant researches on this short story from different perspectives.Wang Quanli et al. (2011) selected nine typical examples from the English version of Lu Xun's novel "storm" by Yang xianyi and Dai nadie, as well as Julia Lowell's English version, to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of Yang's version and the blue version.Xi (2016) took the English translation of cultural expression in Lu Xun's short story "The Wave" as an example to discuss and summarize common cultural translation methods.Wang Baorong(2016) , centering on the Shaoxing dialect in Lu Xun's novel "The Storm", attempts to describe the translator's initial translation norms and explain his translation decisions by analyzing his translation strategies. With an objective attitude, Yang (2016) appreciated Lu Xun's "disturbance" as well as Yang Xianyi's and Dai Nadie's translations. This paper mainly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of Yang Xianyi's and Dai Nadie's translation from the linguistic perspectives of morphology, syntax and semantics. From the perspective of functional linguistics, Qiu (2018) makes a comparative study of translation fidelity in six English versions of Lu Xun's short story "The Wave". Based on the original text, 10 examples of culture-loaded words are selected, with clauses as the unit. Through comparison and statistics, it is found that the translation of culture-loaded words related to Shaoxing dialect and customs deviates from the original text to different degrees. The fidelity of a translation is related to the cultural context in which the translator lives, and also to the background of The Times in which the translator translates.2.2 Corpus translation researchCorpus linguistics emerged in the 1960s. As an emerging discipline, it not only provides a new research method, but also proposes a new theory based on a large number of linguistic facts extracted from the corpus (Sinclair, 1991). In 1993, Mona. Professor Baker's work Corpus Linguistics and Translation Studies: Implications and Applications(Corpus Linguistics and Translation Studies: Inspiration and Application) is the pioneering work of Corpus Translation Studies. With the help of corpus, "The emphasis has shifted away from meaning to usage, and the notion of equivalence is gradually giving way to that of norms" (Baker, 1993). Corpus translation studies are the result of the combination of corpus linguistics and translation studies, a new research paradigm, and a result of the shift of the focus of translation studies from normative to descriptive (Wang Kefei, 2006). The application of corpus in translation studies provides a new method for translation studies, and the empirical data extracted from corpus ensures the reliability of translation studies. There are various definitions of corpus-based translation studies. Laviosa (1996) and Laviosa (2004) give the definition of corpus translation research. The appearance of corpus promotes the development of corpus research. According to Huston (2006), corpus is a kind of language body that is naturally generated and collected for language research. It makes sense to exclude from corpus linguistics unless the translation is done by the native speaker (Liao, 2000). The most prominent feature of corpus translation studies is that it pays attention to empirical research and emphasizes the organic combination of data statistics and theoretical analysis(Hu, 2011).Corpus translation studies take translation as the research object, and adopt the model of combining intralingual and interlingual comparison to describe and explain translation phenomena and explore the rules and essence of translation. In recent years, corpus translation studies have developed rapidly, and its research topics include translation commonness, translation style and translation teaching.A corpus can collect, annotate and process a large number of translated and untranslated texts for research purposes. Corpus-based translation research focuses on translation, combines quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, and examines corpus data from the aspects of standard STTR, word density, average sentence length, average word length, narrative structure, etc. Their purpose is to compare the differences between the translation and the original, or between the translations of different translators. On the basis of quantitative analysis of these characteristics, they also explore the translator's style. Therefore, the corpus-based translation style research method is considered to be more reliable, more objective and more scientific than the traditional methods.2.4 ConclusionThe introduction of corpus-based quantitative analysis into traditional translation appreciation not only improves the efficiency of appreciation, but also helps to use big data to reveal the details that are easy to be ignored by readers. Of course, corpus translation appreciation needs to be supplemented by empirical analysis and qualitative judgment, so that the conclusion can be more accurate.ReferencesBaker, M. (1993).
