Literature review
Abstract: This paper summarizes The three aspects that is practical translation research, cohesion and coherence, and The role of cohesion and coherence in translation. As to economic and trade translation, scholars have studied skills of translation, principles of translation, terminology translation and so on. As to cohesion and coherence, researchers believe that cohesion is a tangible network of discourse. Cohesion itself is not enough to connect sentences into a text and the structure of a whole article includes the interaction of cohesion and some other factors. As to the role of cohesion and coherence in translation, its importance has been confirmed by many language experts. This paper concludes that the application of coherence and connectivity in translation is not sufficient.

1.1 Previous Studies on Economic and Trade Translation Abroad
As a part of practical translation, economic and trade translation has not been studied deeply yet abroad. But its relevant theories have been explored.
In 1981, Newmark put forward the categorization of text clearly in his book Explorations in Translation. According to Newmark, Roman and Jakobsons theory of language function is most suitable for the analysis of text translation, which is simple and practical (Newmark, 2001:40).
Based on this, Newmark divides texts into expressive texts, informative texts and evocative texts by combining the linguistic functions of Buhler and Jacobson. Newmark points out that the linguistic function of informative text is to state objective facts (Newmark, 1991:31).
Newmark further proposes that communicative translation theory is suitable for the vast majority of informative texts, such as non-literary works, news reports, scientific articles, textbooks, reports, and announcements. 'Semantic translation is used for expressive texts and communicative translation for informative texts and evocative texts' (Newmark, 1981:41). Therefore, Newmark believes that the translation of informative texts should be guided by the communicative translation theory.
